The Swedish Biodiversity Centre (CBM), jointly operated by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Uppsala University, is Sweden's national centre for co-ordinating and initiating research on biodiversity. The centre's main function is to conduct, initiate and coordinate research on the preservation, sustainable use and restoration of biodiversity in Sweden. Education and information programmes on biodiversity are other important activities run by the Centre, as well as participation in international projects concerning global biodiversity and support of many organisations in developing countries working with biodiversity issues.
